About Us​

We are a public, nonprofit, voluntary association. Our members are comprised of people, businesses, faith communities, and other organisations in Pinehurst. We are a registered Non-Profit Organisation registered with the Department of Social Development, with certificate no: 291-932 NPO.

We are a registered Section 18A and Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) with the South African Revenue Service (SARS). Our PBO reference number is 930078628. Donations made to us are tax deductible for the donors in terms of Section 18A of the Income Tax Act 58 of 1962.

Our Mission​:

Pinehurst Ratepayers’ and Residents’ Association (PRRA)

The Pinehurst Ratepayers’ and Residents’ Association (PRRA) mission is to keep Pinehurst a desirable place to live, work and visit. The PRRA represents the interests of the entire community of Pinehurst.

The PRRA works to promote and advance the area’s community cohesiveness by liaising with local government officials, participating in local government open and democratic public participation forums and processes, providing information about the area to PRRA members, and engaging PRRA members to gather and promote the ideas and interests of the entire community.

Executive Committee

Joseph Shaw

Joseph Shaw is the chairperson of the PRRA executive committee and an attorney of the High Court of South Africa. He is proficient in litigation practise and regularly advises clients in the laws of insolvency, business rescue, consumer, municipal, and deceased estates.

Joseph volunteers and holds executive offices for several NPOs and community organisations. He and his family stay in Oakwood estate and have lived in Durbanville all their lives.

Wendell Beuke

Wendell is the PRRA executive committee’s treasurer and a practicing Chartered Accountant with experience in mining, construction, and small business. He has a diverse portfolio of clients (some of them pro bono) and consults on financial, accounting and tax matters.

Wendell is also a registered Business Rescue Practitioner. He and his wife have stayed in Durbanville for the past 10 years.

Maryke Maree

Maryke Maree is a committee member of the PRRA executive committee and a registered professional architect with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession. Maryke and her family live in Durbanville and regularly visit Pinehurst in her capacity as Supervising Architect for numerous of the estates in Pinehurst. 

Since the establishment of her company in 2016, the central area of work has been residential renovations with a primary focus on the design and alteration of space through small-scale interventions that deliver significant improvements upon implementation.
